Sun Dance Site: Bridger Teton National Forest
From Jackson: Traveling North, approximately 25 miles, go a few miles past Triangle X Ranch and Cunningham Cabin, take the first right past the orange "Truck Crossing" sign onto Spread Creek Road, into the National Forest.

If you pass Moose Head Ranch on the left you have gone too far.

From Moran: Traveling South, approximately 5 miles, past Moose Head Ranch on your right, take the first left past the orange "Truck Crossing" sign onto Spread Creek Road, into the National Forest.

If you pass Triangle X Ranch on the left you have gone too far.

Continue 3 miles on Spread Creek Road, pass to the right of the construction, to the Sun Dance Site. Follow signs and look for the Tipi's.


Camping on site in designated areas arriving on Monday June 21st and departing on Thursday, July 8th. Sundancers please arrive no later than Monday June 28th to help set up the Camp, Sweat Lodge and Arbor.

Orientation in the evening on Wednesday, June 30th. Ceremony will commence at sunset on Thursday, July 1st Sundance Feast immediately following the Ceremony. No alcohol or drugs. No concessions or soliciting. Heart of the Rose Sundance, 2004 is one of the Seven Sacred Ceremonies in the Shoshone Tradition.
Enter the Sacred Sun Dance Ceremony with Reverence, Respect and Love in your Hearts.

Honoring the Tradition, Women who are with Child or on their Moon
will be asked to support from their own designated Sacred Space, away from the Dancers. According to Tradition, Women with Child or on Moon are In the most powerful time of their cycle of life and must be Honored in a separate Ceremony.
